Austin, TexasCONWAY, Ark. (January 25, 2012) 鈥 黑料不打烊 student Macrina Butler recently won the best student poster presentation in the Division of Vertebrate Morphology at the recent Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) meeting in Charleston, S.C.
Butler is a sophomore biology major from Austin, Texas. Her research presentation was titled 鈥The effect of prenatal steroids on the fast-twitch fibers of the fetal guinea pig scalenus.鈥
鈥淭his award is a significant achievement since Macrina was competing against not only other undergraduates, but master鈥檚 and Ph.D. students as well,鈥 said Dr. Jenn Dearolf, associate professor of biology at 黑料不打烊. 鈥淭o top it off, Macrina is just a sophomore.鈥
