Eligibility, Deadline & Rules

Eligibility

The competition is open to all currently enrolled ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students. As such, all films must be completed by a cast/crew that is primarily comprised of current ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students.  

Students who are not in good conduct standing with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ are not eligible to submit films or win prizes. The Red Brick Film Festival Committee reserves the right to disqualify other cases as deemed appropriate.  

Deadline

All entries must be received by Celeste Reeb (Fausett 203-B or reeb@hendrix.edu) by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026. 

Rules

  1. Films should be a maximum length of 3 minutes and 30 seconds including title and credits.
  2. Submissions will not be returned. All submissions will be available for use by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. All films must include 100% original film work.
  3. Students may not use copyrighted music unless expressed written consent is obtained from the original artist. Cover songs of copyrighted music may be used if said cover song was created specifically for your film.
  4. Students must complete and submit all necessary competition forms.  
  5. Films will be showcased to general audiences. As such, the Festival Committee reserves the right to limit the number of films screened.  
  6. Students may submit a maximum of two entries each year. 
  7. Students are encouraged to use their own camera equipment. A limited number of cameras will be available for students to check out from the Filmmaker’s Club in the SLTC. Students who do not return the equipment after 3 days may be disqualified for the competition in fairness to other contestants. 
  8. Usage of graphic language, nudity, and drug/alcohol use in any film is subject to review by the Red Brick Film Festival Committee. 
  9. Students may not use generative AI during any stage of production.Â
